  • Located on the west bank of the mouth of the Pearl River, bordering Guangdong province to the north and facing the South China Sea in the east and south, Macau is one of the two special administrative regions of the People’s Republic of China, the other being Hong Kong. Macau, also called Macao, was returned to China as a special administrative region on December 20th, 1999.
